Set of four late 18th century Directoire mahogany side chairs with brass banding, with rectangular plat backs, curved and pierced with an associated lyre motif of foliate decor and involutions, surmounted by a brass banding framed area leading to a wrapped top. Front and back saber legs extend in the arch of the backrest in Etruscan style. An inventory number below the seat on the grounds of their nobel provenance. The seats are upholstered with Prussian horsehair fabric, which combines a silky sheen, timeless simplicity, high durability and easy-maintenance.
