Early 19th century South German or Austrian Biedermeier walnut cabinet dresser
The rectangular body standing on four small tapering feet holding a cabinet section opening with two slightly concave doors to the inside with one shelf. The doors are flanked by a pair of massive walnut half columns with gilt bronze bases and capitals. The inside of the cabinet compartment still shows the original Florentine marbled paper lining. Above the cabinet section a frieze drawer with three separate compartments at the inside, the center compartment showing an old, unidentified inventory number: 2779. The drawer opens with two gilt bronze ring handles in the shape of a flower wreath held by a delicately chiseled rose bouquet. The cabinet dresser is decorated on three sides with fine mirrored walnut veneer, the top being veneered accordingly.
Beautiful, very rare and highly practical piece of furniture from the early 19th century with an excellent walnut veneer of a vivid and warm honey like color.
