Austrian/Vienna 1st half of 19th Century Biedermeier Walnut Game Flip Top Game Table, ca. 1840:
A Biedermeier extending game table made of walnut veneer with four column shaped tapering legs on a four lobed base. The legs being topped by two arch structures which hold the table top. The top of the table can be extended by being turned around and flipped open, the inner side being lined with green felt. When being turned around, the top also opens to a hidden compartment. A lose glass plate that has been added later to protect the veneer of the top comes together with this game table.
