Excellent Pair of Early 19 Century French Empire Gilt Bronze Neoclassical Candlesticks
A tapering stem with rich and finely chased relief decoration depicting stylised flowers and foliage friezes as well as an unusual marguerite or daisy onament resting on a circular base with a slightly doomed foot showing a neoclassical leaf frieze. Bell-shaped nozzle with foliage decoration, removable drip pan with fine fluting. The decor is very intricately executed and the sculpting is of very high quality.
