Excellent 19th Century French Louis XVI Decorative Imari Porcelain Gilt Bronze Mount Bowl
A probably 18th century Chinese blue and red Imari ware bowl mounted on a round Louis XVI style openwork base with four neoclassical scroll feet, the Imari bowl showing symbols of scholarship like script scrolls amongst blue and red foliage. Two gilt bronze Greek-key handles with movable laurel swags. The rim of the bowl mounted with a gilt-bronze openwork neoclassical wave frieze and pearl rim.
The French 19th gilt-bronze mounting is of excellent chasing and gilding harmonizes perfectly with the Asian decoration of the Imari porcelain bowl.
Condition: very good, min. wear consistent with age and use, min. fading, bottom of the IMari bowl with later lacquer due to mounting process – detailed condition report on request
