The white enamel dial with Roman hours and pierced gilt hands, contained within a ribbon tied drum case, surmounted by the bronze statue of Pallas Athena, held between two fasces surmounted by armillary spheres. A finely chased gilt bronze lion resting on the beautifully red and white coloured stepped marble plinth is thought to be a reference to the Nemean Lion who was killed by Heracles with the guidance of Athena. The clock rests on toupie feet. The movement with lion’s head pendulum, silk suspension, strike on bell every half and full hour.
The clockwork had been revisioned recently and is in perfect working condition.
