Standing on a rectangular wooden base with concave corners, six small alabaster feet and a floral Biedermeier style brass vignette a rectangular portico with a pair of alabaster columns and a three-section mirorred backplate holding the circular walnut and ebonized wood clock case which is topped by an alabaster neoclassical vase. To both sides of the clock case a smaller baluster vase. Enamel dial with Roman numbers and iron hands. Gilt bronze sun pendulum.
Because the Biedermeier clock was intended to be placed in a library, the clock is missing a strike on bell, which would have been considered rather disturbing.
