Pair of 1st half of 19th Century Basket Shape Gilt Bronze Crystal Empire Wall Lights
Cross-shaped gilt-bronze backplate with three semicircular rings decorated with stylised feather friezes. The larger central ring, which is topped by an Apollons’ head flanked by neoclassical vases, pairs of swans and cornucopia motifs, holds three s-shaped candle arms decorated with swan heads. The upper ring is crowned by three stylised feather motifs with crystal drops. The pair of wall lights are hung with suspended chains of graduated octagonal flatback beads and icicle drops forming a basket or bag and tent shape. Not electrified.
