A fine French Empire mantel clock with a rectangular drum case surmounted by a wall fountain featuring a lion mask, flanked by the goddess Flora holding a flower in one hand and a bee the other – as Flora is not only the goddess of flowers but also one among several fertility goddesses. On the other side a perfume burner of urn form on a circular base, giving off a scent symbolized by clouds. The rectangular stepped plinth decorated with three wreaths framing baskets of flowers and a central mask of Flora or Apollon. The white enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued-steel Breguet hands. The movement with silk suspension and a knob for adjusting the speed.
