Empire mantel clock, the enamel dial within a finely cast and chased gilt bronze architectural case with decorative motifs such as fluted columns, pine cones, flowers and ribbon bow. The dial signed “Galle rue Vivienne à Paris”. Gerard-Jean Galle (1788 – 1846), son of Claude Galle, was a top bronzier famous for his high quality of work and given the title ‘fournisseur de sa majesté (Supplier to the King).
