Excellent and rare French 18th Century Louis XVI Marquetry Sliding Doors Demilune Cabinet
A rectangular bowfront cabinet standing on four square tapering feet. The cabinet opens with two sliding doors to reveil two shelves, the upper one wih a cut-out to allow bottles to be placed on the lower shelf, which makes it a perfect liquor cabinet. The sliding doors decorated with alternate light and dark wood panels, the sides with fine cube pattern marquetry, feet and parts of the marquetry of ebonized wood. The cabinet is topped by a dark grey marble plate.
An excellent and rare Louis XVI cabinet with an almost eccentrical geometrical marquetry, which makes it fit for a classical as well as a modern ambiance.
