French 18th Century Louis XVI Neoclassical Giltwood Wall Mirror

The giltwood mirror containing the original mercury mirror plate within a moulded and beaded frame without-set corners. The large, pierced cresting elaborately carved with a neoclassical vase of roses, accompanied by acanthus scrolls and a laurel wreath floating down along the sides of the mirror frame.

The water gilding in excellent original condition with a wonderfully aged patina. The mirror pane with corroded areas.
