A round and fluted foot surrounded by a laurel wreath standing on gilt bronze rectangular plinth which is mounted on a green marbled metal base. The round foot carries a hemispherical bowl, which together with the also hemspispherical cover, form a globular shape. The bowl and lid bear finely chased, radially applied lancet leaf reliefs, the rim of the bowl shows a frieze of openwork pearl pattern cartouches alternating with 6 button-like decorative knobs, the heads of which are decorated with classical rosettes. Inside the bowl is a small, fixed tazza for holding scented oils or herbs, whose fragrances can spread throughout the room through the openwork relief frieze of the bowl and cover, as well as through a funnel-shaped opening as the upper end of the cover.
Exceptional, unique neoclassical decorative piece or centerpiece with excellent quality of chasing and gilding.
