A mid-18th century French Louis XV giltwood wall mirror with original rectangular mirror pane, the mirrored showing bold intricate foliage and floral carving. The corners are accentuated with large C-scrolls which are connected by interlacing laurel garlands. The mirror is surmounted by a pierced cresting with a central flower and foliage basket of elaborate carving which is arched by a three-lobed rocaille cartouche. Supported on two small feet decorated with C-scrolls, the part of the frame is decorated by a central flower bouquet. Original gilding with beautiful patina. The original mirror panes with some corrosion.
