19th century Louis XV style armchair or ‘bergere en cabriolet’, finely carved with flowers and intricate moulding, its surface exhibiting traces of former paintwork. The carved bergere with an arched padded back and a loose cushion seat on short cabriole legs. Upholstery in the French tradition with luxurious soft feather cushion and a modern bluish-grey linen fabric. The contrast between the modern fabric and the beautifully patinated wooden surface creates the charm and attractiveness of this piece.
