French Louis XV console table of finely carved and gilded wood. The red and grey ‘rouge griotte’ marble top of serpentine outline, with a pierced frieze carved with rocaille and leaves, with a stylised scallop shell on each corner, on cabriole legs similarly carved with shell work and leaves connected about four inches above the ground by a stretcher of irregular convergent foliated openwork forms and a central C-shaped rocaille. The whole water gilded with burnished and matte areas.
Condition: good, minor wear consistent with age and use, minor restoration where necessary, marble top with old hairline crack (professionally restored, now invisible) – detailed condition report on request
