19th century French small Louis XV Style Napoleon III Trelliswork marquetry ladies’ desk or bureau plat
An excellently excecuted small Louis XV style ladies’ desk standing on four slender cabriole legs and holding three front drawers that follow the curvy outline of the frame. All four sides and the top of the bureau show an excellent rosewood trelliswork marquetry, contrasted by the kingswood veneer of the legs and frame. Louis XV-style handles and sabots of elaborately cast and gilt bronze.
A charming table or writing desk of small size, beautiful proportions and expressive marquetry which adds beauty to a classical as well as a modern ambiance and can easily be positioned in the middle of a room.
