An early 18th century Regence giltwood mirror with a rectangular plate within an arched frame adorned with carved interlaced scrolls, acanthus, cabochons and foliate on a diapered background. The cresting carved with a basket of flowers flanked by birds and surmounted by a stylised acanthus leave arrangement. The gilding, with refreshed areas, displays an accumulated rich patina and an interplay between burnished and matte surfaces.
