An 18th century Louis XVI black painted and giltwood barometer, the painted oval dial inscribed Barometre, signed and dated Mantelly & Rossy 1753, within a molded framed with a beaded border, flanked by a beautifully carved ribbon bound moulding, surmounted by laurel leaves and drapery, the base with a ribbon tied drapery. Matt and burnished gilding.
