French 18th Century Louis XVI Giltwood Wall Mirror or Trumeau
The giltwood mirror containing an old mirror plate within a moulded and beaded frame. The cresting showing a neoclassical floral vignette with two large foliage scrolls and leafs with a central bouquet of small flowers and laurel twigs carved and gilded against a grey ground. A laurel leaf festoon hanging in each side from the top corresponding with laurel twigs at the sides of the lower part of the mirror.
The water gilding in original and true condition, a natural aged patina.
Size of the mirror: 26.77 in (68 cm) x 20.47 in. (52 cm)
Condition: good, wear consistent with age and use, parts of corrosion to the mirror glass, partially losses of gilding – detailed condition report on request
