French 18th Century Provencal Transition/Louis XVI Giltwood Wall Mirror with ribbon decoration
A giltwood frame with old mirror plate, within a mirrored border, the outset corners with acanthus leaves, the cresting with a tiny oval mirror accompanied by wineleafs and grapes and crowned by a large decorative bow, a so-called “Fontange” bow with a small flower bouquet in the center of it.
Size of the mirror: 40 cm / 15.75 in . x 32 cm / 12.60 in.
Condition: good, wear constistent with age and use, min. losses of gilding, 1 minor loss of frame at upper right corner – detailed condition report on request
